Join us as we start the year by realigning our focus to the life and character of Jesus through the spiritual discipline of fasting.

One chapter a day through the Gospel of Matthew.

For those who are unsure which fasting approach to take, the options below are provided as recommended starting points.

❋ Complete Fast

A complete fast is abstaining from all food for a set period of time, typically consuming only water. This type of fast is often practiced for deep spiritual focus, repentance, or urgent prayer. Biblical examples include Moses and Jesus.

❋ Partial Fast

A partial fast involves limiting food rather than eliminating it entirely, such as fasting from one or two meals a day. This allows space for prayer and discipline while still maintaining daily responsibilities. It’s one of the most accessible fasts for beginners.

❋ Media Fast

A media fast involves stepping away from social media, entertainment, or unnecessary screen time. The goal is to remove distractions and create margin to hear God more clearly. What you remove should be intentionally replaced with prayer and Scripture.

❋ Selective Fast

A selective fast removes specific foods or habits, such as sugar, caffeine, or fast food. This fast highlights areas of reliance or comfort and redirects that dependence toward God. It’s often paired with intentional prayer during moments of craving.
